Myself and two other painting buddies decided that we should give this paint out a try! We left a day early, so we could take our time and paint en route, our first stop was a wee town (pop 249 on a good day) Lytton, BC. Of course the scenery was spectacular, however we can't quite say that for the accommodation, but we lived through the night with constant train traffic and the rattling of our windows as the numerous trains went by in the canyon! We arrived Friday at our destintion, Ashcroft, BC, located in the Caribou, think Gold Rush Days and managed to paint another sketch (Black Canyon) before the evening events. Our hotel once again was interesting and our towels could be classified as transparent, no problem, we did handle it. At 7 pm, we attended a wonderful meet & greet with yummy refreshments and appty's plus meeting the other 54 artists participating in this annual paint out. Off to a good start! Saturday morning, we painted in the Historical part of Ashcroft, old buildings/homes from the heyday of the railway, mining, cattle and such! Hence, I spotted this old back alley shed and it brought back the memories of my childhood of playing all sorts of games in those alleyways!
