This painting was inspired from an en plein air oil sketch, (I did on location).  It was spring and bitterly cold.  I spotted this old farm house sitting  by itself, surrounded by the mountains.  I set up my easel and enjoy the solitude as I painted the 8x10 oil sketch.  Every time I looked at this sketch, I knew eventually I would do a studio painting of it.
